Before the kids went back to school...
My very good friend - Elaine,
Invited the whole family for a pool party and BBQ
Her three grandkids and her three sons and their significant others were all here for a visit...and with us being surrogate family, we joined them!
What a blast!
The kids all had a great time...
So did Nana Elaine!
She is like no other grandma I know...
It was so awesome, especially since my boys don't get to see their own grandparents very often...they just love her!
So here are some pics of our fun filled day!
The boys on the rock slide
Nana Elaine taking on the two little guys...Trevor & Dylan...
I think Elaine won!
Elaine goin' down the slide
The "old" guys stayed cool in the shade...
1...2...3...JUMP!
What a great time we had!

First Day Of School
Ok...I'm not usually one of "those" moms that cries on the first day of school...
Honestly, the last time I cried on the first day of school was about 11 years ago when I took Michael to Kindergarten! I'm generally the one cheering, jumping up and down...the first one at the restaurant for the first day of school, mom breakfast! Seriously!!!
So, some friends and I walked with the kids to the middle school (a safe, non-embarassing distance behind them). Everything was going really well...the kids were excited...so were the moms! We took a few pictures and then my two boys, Logan and Trevor, went over to the principal Mr. Velk (who was also their baseball coach this past season) to shake his hand and say hi...
Then it happened!
Just like that!
Trevor saw a couple of his frieds and they did the boy high-five and what'sup dude and then walked away...
No hug...
No kiss...
No goodbye mom...
And then I couldn't stop what came next!
That burning and stinging in my eyes and the tears started to fall! I couldn't stop it! OMGosh...I'm one of "those" moms!
Logan got all worried and hugged me and asked me what was wrong...
I told him that they were growing up so fast and they don't need me anymore! Trevor didn't even say goodbye to me...
(boo hoo hoo waaaaaaa!!!)
Logan hugged me tight, gave me a kiss and ran off...
I turned to go with my friends who by this time thought I had completely lost it...and then I heard "mom...mom" It was Trevor...he gave me a hug and a kiss and told me goodbye and then ran off to go with his friends...He hadn't forgotten me afterall...
Side note: I found out later...Logan caught up to Trevor - told him that he made me cry for not saying goodbye to me and that he better go back right now! :P

Dance Festival
I know this is about two weeks late...
but I had to share some pictures from the Youth Dance Festival
My two older boys, Michael and Korey
participated in at the end of July...
So amazing!
over 3000 Youth - ages 12 to 18
coming together to celebrate America and freedom
and out to just have some good clean fun!
Logan and Mom watching in the stands...
Every participant went out onto the field for the finale' and made a human flag...
It really was an awesome site to behold!
enjoy!
